CHIPPEWA CO. DEMOCRATS PLAN ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER &
AUCTION
Sault Sainte Marie, MI - March 21, 2005 - The Chippewa County
Democratic Party will be holding its annual Spaghetti Dinner
and Auction on Saturday April 2, 2005, at the Christopher
Columbus Hall in Sault Ste. Marie.
The Spaghetti Dinner and Auction will start with a social
hour at 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed
by a program and auction.
The program will be hosted by Dick Jennings as Master of
Ceremonies. Pat Shannon, former Chippewa County Prosecutor,
will appear as guest speaker. The program will also include
the announcement of the ‘2005 Chippewa County Democrat
of the Year’.
Featured guests will include the Hon. Gary McDowell, Michigan
House of Representatives, 107th District; Kay Chase, First
Congressional District Party Chair; Dennis Baldinelli, First
Congressional District Party Vice-chair, and Diana Charles,
UP representative for Senator Carl Levin.
This year's auction will feature both live and silent auctions.
County Commissioner Ted Postula will serve as auctioneer.
A large variety of auction items have been gathered including
handmade quilts from local crafters, and gift certificates
from area businesses.
"This traditional event is an opportunity for county
Democrats to meet their elected local and state officials,
as well as Party Officers," said Democratic Party county
Chair Jerry Dobbertin. "We look forward to welcoming
our newly elected State Representative Gary McDowell. Attendance
will motivate everyone involved in local and state politics,
as well as our township, county, and state level officials.
We encourage local voters to use this opportunity to get to
know our officials and County Party membership."
