Sault Sainte Marie, MI - March 27, 2008 - CHIPPEWA COUNTY DEMOCRATS PLAN ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER & AUCTION
The Chippewa County Democratic Party will be holding its annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction on Saturday April 5, 2008, at the Christopher Columbus Hall, 201 Sheridan St., in Sault Ste. Marie.
The event will start with a social hour at 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed by a short program, and live and silent auctions.
The Spaghetti Dinner provides an opportunity for county Democrats to meet their elected local and state officials, as well as officers and members of the County Party.
“This year we welcome state and local elected officials, members of the County Commission and other notables,” said Democratic Party Chair, Jerry Dobbertin. "An election year is an ideal time to become involved in local and state politics, as well as meet our township, county, and state level officials. Local voters are encouraged to join us and get to know our officials and County Party membership."
State Representative Gary McDowell will join us this year. "I always look forward to The Chippewa Dems Spaghetti Dinner," McDowell said. "There is always good food and the great company. I enjoy meeting and talking with Chippewa County Democrats"
County Commissioner, Earl Kay will host the program, and the live auction will be conducted by County Commissioner, Ted Postula. The program will also include the announcement of the ‘2007 Chippewa County Democrat of the Year’.
Bids may be made in both live and silent auctions. Some of the exciting and interesting items in this year's auction are: hand done quilt, water color painting by a local artist, a Casino package, democratic party memorabilia and autographed items from Senator Debbie Stabenow, photographs, music lessons, beauty services, presentation box of clay disks for skeet shooting from Lt. Governor John Cherry, and much more.
